Downpour Shad Fishing

I met up with Mark, a member from my shad fishing facebook group to do some fishing. It was down pouring when we were getting our fishing gear set up. What a bad start! We walked down to the river and based on what I saw, I was not optimistic about the fishing. The river was low and I do not like fishing slow current since I associate slow current with less aggressive fish. Mark and I hooked into a couple of fish while the current was slow.

Eventually the water level picked up and the fishing certainly got better! We hooked into several more fish! Mark and I fished until dark, we landed 5 fish each. Overall, it was good day of fishing.
